Overview
Viktor Navorski is a man without a country; his plane took off just as a coup d'etat exploded in his homeland, leaving it in shambles, and now he's stranded at Kennedy Airport, where he's holding a passport that nobody recognizes. While quarantined in the transit lounge until authorities can figure out what to do with him, Viktor simply goes on living – and courts romance with a beautiful flight attendant.

Viktor Navorski, a man who gets stranded at an airport when a war rages in his country, is forced by officials to stay in the airport until his identify is confirmed.
The authorities at the airport force him to stay there until his original identity can be confirmed. Viktor is a resourceful man and finds ways to entertain himself and the other people at the airport. He eventually befriends a janitor and a stewardess, and they help him to make the best of his situation. Viktor’s story is one of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
